Many of you have heard or read that the Beaverkill Campground, run by the State of New York, is being closed.  A meeting took place Saturday, March 7th at 6:30 p.m. sponsored by the Catskill Mountainkeeper and the Friends of the Beaverkill.  With everyone's efforts, the Sullivan County Legislature has passed a resolution asking that this issue be revisited.  For those who are concerned you can write a letter to Pete Grannis, the DEC Commissioner at 625 Broadway, Albany, N.Y. 12233.  You can also write Willie Janeway the Regional Director of Region 3 at 21 South Putt Corner, New Paltz, N.Y. 12561.   You can also go the website of the Catskill Mountainkeeper at www.catskillmntnkeeper.org and sign a petition on-line regarding this matter.
